Hi, my name's Amber. Thank you for taking the time to visit my site and get to know a little bit about me. I'll try to keep this short and not the novel my brain thinks it should be. If you're fine with reading that much, feel free to check out my blog.
Short and sweet: I'm an avid book nerd, coffee and tea lover, multi-cause advocate, modest knitter, gamer, manga enthusiast, and music lover. When I was little I wanted to be a teacher, a vet, a horse trainer, and a writer. I also wanted to be Anne of Green Gables and a few other literary characters, from dragon riders to mighty knights. Today I'm a pet owner, a student, a graphic designer, a crafter, and an aspiring author.
I fell in love with graphic design in 1998. At the tender age of 16 I discovered both the internet and the amazing possibilities it held. Since then I've created multiple graphics, web banners, social media identities, and websites. I have taken courses in web design, graphic design, copyright and marketing, as well as been heavily self-taught in multiple fields including HTML, wordpress, and CSS.
AmberJennell - This site! First launched in 2004, AmberJennell.com has always been the place for me to showcase, well, me! Showcasing both my graphic work and my passion for books and writing, the site has been my permanent home on the ever changing web.
You can view some of the old faces of AmberJennell.com here.
The Gilded Pen - First launched in 2007, The Gilded Pen is the place I share my love of books and reading with the world in a more professional platform. Targeted towards women aged 16+, the site offers reviews on books aimed, featuring, or written by women.
GPManga! - First launched in 2008, GPManga offered an insight to Japanese pop culture for American girls and women. The site offered reviews and news on manga, anime, movies, and television. In 2010 GPManga! branched out to include Korean and Chinese material. Currently, the site is in a stage of re-branding as it now includes reviews and news about comics from around the world.
I have taken college courses in copy writing and advertising, computer graphics, two dimension animation, and am currently perusing a degree in both Liberal Studies and English. Life has tried it's best to keep me from my goal, but I'm faithfully pushing forward!
Keyboard Skills - I can type 65+ WPM and 10 key 6350+ KPH. You know, in case you where interested.
